A few questions I frequently get asked

January 30, 2018

few questions I get asked that may give you a few answers

Q; How long have you been a photographer?
A. I have been a photographer for over 30 years ( a way back in the days of film)

Q. Do you just photograph weddings?
A. No I photograph a range of subjects from events to sports to portraits to press. The experience I have across a lot of different situations means when I photograph a wedding I bring a different angle to your day. Capturing it as a story. I know how to get the best out of light (or lack of it) and create images that take advantage of the surroundings.

Q. On our wedding day how long do you stay at the wedding?
A. When you book me for a full day package I am there from roughly two hours before the ceremony begins to the dancing at in the evening. The better your guests are at dancing the longer I stay :)

Q. What pictures do you take on the day?
A. 90% of what I capture is what happens in front of me. This includes all the important moments as well as the little moments that makes YOUR day special to you. The other 10% will be group pictures, nice portraits of you and your wedding party. I always tell couples that they hire me (and my assistant who comes along with the package) for the day and if they have a request then I am there to cover it for them. We even spend some time getting nice images of your guests who have make the effort to get dressed up for your day.

Q. How long after the wedding do we see the pictures?
A. Within 48 hours I will send you a sample gallery of your day to give you a chance to share or as some couples like to do make up thank you cards. The full gallery would normally be ready 2-3 weeks after your wedding day.

Q. Do you travel to ......?
A. We travel all over Scotland and beyond. Within a 60 mile radius from Perth there is no extra charge. Weddings outside that radius occur a small travel charge.

Q. How do you sort out payments?
A. For all weddings a deposit is required to book your date (currently £150). The balance is then due two weeks before your date. This can be paid in one instalment or over three instalments.

Q. If I would like an album after the wedding day is that possible?
A. Yes albums can be ordered and paid for after the day. Obviously it costs a little less when it is included in the package.

Q. Do you do video?
A. No I prefer to be a master at one skill and can recommend other videographers who do a much better job than i would.

Q. How do we book?
A. Go to our website ( and fill in the contact form to check you date is available. If you wish to go ahead and book we will then send a booking form to you.
